Judge – Lance Leachman
Lance, along with his parents and brother, own and operate Big Gully Farm. The farm consists of 150 breeding age Hereford females. Cattle are merchandised privately and via a fall internet female sale. The farm utilizes artificial insemination, embryo transfer, expected progeny differences, genomics, and ultrasound for pregnancy diagnosis and carcass merit-as production tools. Cattle are exhibited at Agribition and the farm hosts a youth livestock judging clinic and contest in early October.
Lance has participated on or coached livestock judging teams throughout North America at Dodge City Community College, Kansas State University and Virginia Tech.
Show Highlights:
WLL Annie 7A, exhibited by Scott & Paula Cornish and sired by WLL Global Force 7X, placed 1st in her class of Female Calf Born in 2013.
TL 18L Jessica 107A, sired by FORC 29F Boomer 18L placed 3rd in her class of Female Calf Born in 2013.
Elm-Lodge Polled Herefords took 1st in the Yearling Heifer class with Elm-Lodge Queenie 66Z, a CC CX United 52S ET female.
Elm-Lodge Zoom Zoom 45Z placed first in her class of Yearling Heifers. She is a Square-D Tortuga 953T female exhibited by Elm-Lodge Polled Herefords.
Dalmuir Princess 125W, a WLB Global 72M 50S female placed 2nd in her class with her impressive bull calf at foot.
Congratulations to Medonte Highlands Polled Hereford, exhibitors of the 2013 RAWF Grand Champion Female, and to Grosvenor Farms, exhibitors of the 2013 RAWF Reserve Grand Champion Female!
Elm-Lodge Adrenalin 8A, an Elm-Lodge Paycheck 11P son, placed 1st in his class of bull calves.
Jill Corp placed 2nd in her class with her impressive CC CX United 52S ET bull calf, Earlybird 52S 30P Apollo 4A.
