Westcoast Perseus Tops August BPI Rankings!

We’re proud to announce exceptional results in August 2020 for 0200HO10777 Westcoast Perseus as he is the new #1 BPI Proven sire! Perseus August evaluation combines Interbull proof data from milking daughters in the USA, Italy, UK and Ireland as well as his first 29 daughters in five herds in Australia to reach this great achievement, and underscoring his global success and demand! Matt Glennen, Dixie Park Dairying, is milking 22 first lactation Perseus daughters and praises their consistent breeding pattern and trouble free-nature, “They are extremely good commercial cows, all keen to milk and feed. They are a very consistent group, all having good udders and their production is towards the top of the herd.” Holding the #1 position at +451 BPI, Perseus has a very balanced production profile, making it no surprise that breeders are really appreciating them. Posting a +218 ASI, +308 L Milk, +29 kg of Protein at +0.39% and +27 kg of fat at +0.20% Fat, his daughters are providing highly profitable results in their herds. Miking 11 Perseus daughters, Trevor Parrish of Illawambra Holsteins describes as, “A pleasure to milk. They are moderate-sized heifers with great udders and nice teat length.” Perseus’ dam, View-Home Drman Wsconsin VG-88-3YR-CAN, was an exceptionally uddered young cow, that moved easily on correct feet & legs, displaying great balance and the ideal amount of size and stature for today’s market. The next dam was a VG-87 Robust, then a VG-87 Zenith and then brood cow Pine-Tree Martha Sheen VG-86. His is a pedigree that has been incredibly influential in the Holstein breed, producing males and females that fit genetic profiles all around the world. His linear breakdown is very impressive and matches reports from the field. They are a group that is very impressive in their mammary systems, evident in his scores of +108 Mammary System, +108 Udder Depth, +109 Centre Ligament and +105 Rear Udder Height. Matching this impressive udder profile, Perseus is producing modern cows that perform well on health and fertility traits as well. Dairymen looking for traits to sire long-lasting profitable cows will appreciate his +113 Daughter Fertility, his survival rating of +109 and low Somatic Cell Score of +190.
